A video of Haryana minister Krishan Kumar Bedi reveals why PM Modi’s pet project Swachch Bharat Abhiyan has failed to take off.Taking part in a sanitation programme at Fatehabad, Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Kumar Bedi wielded the mandatory broom on Sunday. Surrounded by officials, he commented “Look what we are forced to do under the Prime Minister Modi’s regime”.
His comment, made in good humour, triggered a round of laughter. Wary that he had spoken before cameras, he asked a journalist if anyone was doing reporting. But he again spoke with a chuckle leading to more laughter.
As his nightmare came true and a few TV channels started playing up his comments, he tried to give a different spin.
Krishan Kumar Bedi told PTI that as a few officials were not taking the programme seriously, he was telling them that they were being forced to pick up the broom because of (PM) Modi.
