A strong contingent of protesters followed veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher as he marched from Janpath to Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.

The New Delhi walk was part of the multi-city protest against the ongoing campaign against intolerance, which the protesters said was shaming the country.

The campaign against intolerance has broken out among writers, social scientists, film makers, scientists and other sections against attacks by Hindutva groups on minorities.

The March for Indiaprotesters blamed the media and the Congress party for orchestrating the intolerance campaign, which has drawn the support of big names from Shahrukh Khan to Nayantara Sahgal.

In contrast, the March for Indiaprotests saw highly enthusiastic citizenry but was low on the celebrity quotient.

Bollywood was represented by Anupam Kher, Priyadarshan, Abhijeet, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashoke pandit and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. Stalwarts from other walks of life are yet to be spotted.
