The 62-year-old Chennai man , Sekar, whose devotion to parrots is well-known in Tamil Nadu, has become famous internationally.
A recent Barcroft TV video on him has gone viral and been viewed by nearly half a million people.
Sekar feeds an estimated 2,000-4,000 parrots every day. His income from repairing cameras is modest, but that does not stop him from spending nearly half of his earnings on his winged friends.
He spreads rice every morning and evening on rows of wooden planks, which the birds come to consume. He celebrates special occasions by giving them American corn.
Sekar started feeding parrots more than two decades ago. His gesture seems to have spread word of mouth among birds which started flocking him in grater numbers.
