On the important issue of dating porn stars, Indian girls are divided.

Let it be placed on record that the split is right in the middle, neatly vertical.

A guy from Nerdy Engineers goes around asking girls if they would date a porn star.

Some say, no problem if he is hot or if he is not cheating on them. One of them says it is his profession, so it is ok.

A few have reservations, he has fxxed a lot of girls in his life, or comes with a bad image.

On a related question, they say the past of a guy does not matter, if he has reformed.

And that applies to porn stars as well.

Indie videos, which ask girls about sex, usually go viral. But this video from nerdy engineers has met with a lukewarm response.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee made a strong attack on saffronisation of the country on Thursday vowing to fight politically a cow census proposed by a BJP-affiliated body.

Condemning the recent violence on Dalits in Gujarat and taking on the centre head-on for promoting Hindutva, Mamata Banerjee said what people wore and ate was a matter of individual choice, not anyone’s political concern.

Addressing a rally in Kolkota she opposed a proposed exercise to carry out a census of cows in the State.

"I am stating this clearly… If some people try to conduct such cow surveys, if they try to stoke fire in our neighbourhoods, we will fight it politically. We will not sit quietly and spare them,"The Telegraph quoted her saying.

She noted that people from a political party had been visiting houses taking count of the cows.

“ What right do these people have to ask such questions? It is none of their business,” she added.

Her unambiguous opposition makes the proposed exercise to take a headcount of cows difficult for the BJP-backed Gau Raksha Committee in West Bengal.

Gau Raksha Committee had planned to carry out two rounds of cow census in West Bengal. First in early August and then after Bakr Eid in September to see how many cows had gone missing.

The Gau Raksha Committee had also planned to file FIRs against missing cows.

Subrata Gupta, president of committee had told PTIthat thousands of cows were slaughtered or smuggled to Bangladesh every year during Bakr Eid,.

The purpose of the census was to stop it, he had said.

The order is overwhelming and for someone from India, the sweeping shift from chaos, may makePyongyang  look like hallucination (video below).

July 23, 2016, NewsCrunch

You are invited to take a virtual trip of Pyongyang following a 360° camera mounted on top of a car.

The city lives up to its reputation as the capital of the Hermit Kingdom.

You will see tree-lined boulevards, huge public buildings and streets laid out in a north-south, east-west grid.

You pass by occasional swank SUVs, dilapidated state-run buses and a tram lonely furrow like a caterpillar.

You may feel good as there are no traffic jams, and also strange that there are no people as well. You do have rare sights of people crossing the road on their bicycle or walking on the pavements, silently without any unnecessary motion.

The order is overwhelming and for someone from India, the sweeping shift from chaos, may make the trip look like hallucination.

Kim Il-Sung, who built Pyongyang after the World War 2, wanted a Soviet-style city with limited population.

The video is over an hour long and thanks to the 360° images, you can get multiple veiws of the same shot by moving your cursor.

An SPG commando possibly acting on instruction was caught on camera moving aside UP Governor Ram Naik, who was standing between Modi and the media cameras.

Modi had visited BJP leader Yogi Adityanaths bastion, Gorakhpur, on Friday to flag off work on an AIIMS branch.

He also visited the famed Goraknath temple, along with Ram Naik, with Yogi Adityanath himself  officiating as the priest.

The SPG commando realised that Ram Naik was blocking the cameras view of Modi, who stood praying.

The opinion about Kabali is divided, but everyone agrees that  whether it flops or clicks, brand Rajinikanth will continue to shine as before.

To understand the power behind Rajinikanth magic, you need to pay attention to the way he has conducted himself.

He has spent 42 years in films and has never endorsed a brand. And by doing that he has let go many opportunities to become substantially richer  than he is now.

Last year, a Forbes report ranked major Indian celebrities by their earning power. And Rajinikanth was at the near bottom of the list, as other celebs riding on the endorsements were raking in the money.

Rajinikanth has never explained why he does not endorse. For his fans, he is a figure of devotion, a living deity. It would be unwise to try to exploit it politically.

His fans may not mind it, may even buy willingly any shoe or cola, Rajinikanth may plug for. But he is too decent a guy to do it.

The Hindustan Times spoke to a few marketing professionals to find out why Rajinikanth did not endorse brands.

One of them said, Rajinikanth is seen as God by his fans. “You don’t see God selling coke, do you?” he asked.

And he got nearly strangulated by the ruffians.

After he posted his ordeal on Facebook, social media applaud started pouring in. He posted his message along with photos of his neck injuries late Friday. They have already been shared by 14,000 followers and viewed 52,000 times.

Friday started as a lucky day for Vasanth Paul – he managed to watch Kabali, first day first show, met close friends and had fun.

On the way back, he took a detour at Alandur and stopped at a empty stretch of land to pee, when he heard the cries of a woman.

He probed and saw three men trying to undress her by force. As he intervened, they attacked him and started strangling him with a rope.

Don't be afraid to face any situation, just because you're alone, says Chennai hero Vasanth Paul
The commotion was taken note of by a tough auto rickshaw driver, who stepped in to kick their butt and rescue Vasanth Paul and the woman.

Though the woman refused to file complaint, Vasanth Paul ends his post saying he would be on the lookout for he thugs, along with his friends.

He leaves his post with a message for the rest of us.

Don't be afraid to face any situation, just because you're alone. If the cause is right, the world will join you right away.

Well put, Vasanth Paul.

M J Akbar’s dull speech in Parliament on Kashmir inspires ‘Nationalists’ – makes a splash (video)

Let us congratulate Akbar, who has just passed the ‘Nationalists’ test for Indian Muslims (video below)

July 24, 2016, NewsCrunch

A recent speech made by journalist-turned-politician-turned minister  M J Akbar on Kashmirhas wowed many.

Akbar, who was know for brevity and energy in his days as big-gun editor, seems to have mellowed and got muddled.

The speech in Rajya Sabha at the backdrop of the recent disturbance in Kashmir is insipid.

It meanders to take a long trip from the historic roots of the trouble to the present day, in the process drawing hoots from backbenchers. It also works as a gentle lullaby to the person sitting next to Akbar, as the photo above shows.

Akbar’s main contention is Kashmir is the acid test for India’s rejection of two-nation theory; Wani was a killer of Indian soldiers and local sarpanchs and there is no case for the media to romanticise him; Pakistanis deceitful and there is still a chance to woo back Kashmiri youth.

Nothing new in the arguments, which are made with the tone of a meek school teacher addressing unruly students.

But the speech has been going viral mostly with the ‘Nationalist’ crowd whose binary Hindu/Muslim worldview sees Kashmir turmoil entirely in religious terms.

As they see it, Akbar’s speech, which flogs well-known Indian position, amounts to him putting his nationality before his religion.

A congratulation is perhaps in order to Akbar, for passing the ‘Nationalists’ test for  Indian Muslims.

Controversial IFS officer Devyani Khobragade’s troubled relationship with her peers continue.

The Prime Minister's Office is reportedly unwilling to heed newly inducted junior social justice and empowerment minister Ramdas Athawale's request to get her appointed as his private secretary.

Modi has not been keen to appoint as private secretaries, officers who had worked with the UPA government in a similar role. He has also shot down names of officers, who were seen as too close to ministers making the request.

Devyani's father Uttam Khobragade, a former IAS officer, is executive president of the Republican Party of India (Athawale). So, she fails the second criteria Modi has been following in appointing officers. who work as ministers' eyes and ears.

Modi had earlier rebuffed Rajnath Singh, Ravishankar Prasad, Najma Heptulla, even Smriti Irani on the issue.

The Telegraph, which reported the story, said while Modi has not said no, but Ramdas Athawale had been stepping up the pressure.

Its source is an unnamed official in social justice ministry, who said officers in foreign ministry and PMO were also opposed to the proposal.
Though Devyani was supported by her  colleagues when she was arrested in the US, her relationship with them has soured since. Most recently, the foreign ministry accused her of hiding facts and misleading the Indian government about her daughters' US passports

A photo of Brazilian Minister Manuela D'Avila breastfeeding her baby has gone viral across the world It reportedly shows her breastfeeding while making an animated statement in National Assembly, Brazil's Parliament. The photo is being appreciated with many commenting that it encourages young mothers to act in the best interest of their baby.
In January, Manuela D'Avila released a photo of herself breastfeeding her daughter.

So, how far is the photo true.

We could not trace the photo to its moment of inception to verify its authenticity. But going by Manuela D'Avila's record it would not be out of place.

Though Brazil encourages breastfeeding proactively, baring the breast in public has been a sensitive issue. After a woman faced police action for doing so sometime ago, a few woman journalists breastfed their baby on live shows.

In January, Manuela D'Avila released a photo of herself breastfeeding her daughter. But this was not in National Assembly but in her home, but it still had created a controversy as many took objection to a politician showing her breasts in a photo.

Manuela D'Avila is from Porto Alegre and a popular leader of the Communist party of Brazil. She is a parliamentarian but not a minister as the caption of the viral photo mentions.

She is married and has two young children.

Two Indian women had the thrill of their lifetime, when they spotted superstar Rajinikanth walking on a sidewalk in the US, listening to music.

They were so taken aback, they could only send out a muffled cry, Sir, Sir....

Rajinikanth heard it, turned back gracefully and waved at them, with the smile of a child.

It is not clear when the video was taken, before or after the release of Kabali, but it started buzzing on social media on July 22.

What stands out is Rajinikanth walking alone, all by himself, and his sweet response when spotted.

After wrapping up Kabali, Rajinikanth went to the US in May and has been there since, reportedly for health reasons.

It is also not clear where the video was shot.

Last week, Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya posted a photo of him praying at Swami Satchidananda Ashram at Yogavilla, near Charlottesville in Virginia.

The video may have been shot in the vicinity.

July 25, 2016, NewsCrunch

Someone sent CRPF an application for the post of head constable  in the name of PM Modi, along with his commonly available photograph.

CRPF reportedly issued an admit card in the name of Modi for the written test.

Media reports say the admit card was on the CRPF website till last week and was pulled down after a few publications covered it.

The admit card mentions Modi's date of birth as 1992, which is out of line with the photo, in which he looks his current age.

To apply for CRPF jobs, you need to apply online, so it is not clear if there was a clerical oversight or an automated process behind Modi admit card for the head constable job.

The walk-in interview for these posts was held in May and the written test, last month.

CRPF officials at Rampur, UP, told The Times of India that the the anomaly was detected in time and the application was rejected.

The Bollywood-dominated list has Modi, Sonia Gandhi, Virat Kohli, SRK, Aishwarya, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, among others. Mark Zuckerberg is the lone non-Indian in the list.

The pellet-ridden faces and bleeding eyes of known faces of celebrities make a dramatic impact, which is further amplified by accompanying captions in the forms of letters written by individual pellet victims. The letters were written by the Never Forget Pakistanteam but the stories they tell are real.

Zuckerberg  has been brought in as Facebook has been reportedly removing posts of Kashmiri victims taking refuge in its policy of maintaining community standards.

The rationale behind the campaign titled, ‪#‎IndiaCantSee, was to put  known faces on the tragedy, says Never Forget Pakistan’s Mohammad Jibran Nasir.

There is a difference between seeing a stranger-victim of pellets to seeing a Virat Kohli or Shahrukh Khan in the same plight.

Never Forget Pakistantakes care to mention that it is not doing the campaign out of jingoism, but to challenge the Indian silence on human rights abuse.

It adds that it does not suffer from any misplaced sentiment of nationalism and opposes abuses by any government including Pakistan.

The anger on pellets message has gone home in India. Union Home Ministry and J&K High Court have spoken about ending stopping pellets, and CRPF apologised on Monday for firing them.

In an interview with Pakistan’s Neo TV on Sunday, Hafiz Saeed said Indiablamed him for everything while he spoke only about Kashmir. He added that there were dissenting voices in India as well and mentioned Barkha Dutt by name, and said she spoke sense.

He also said Congress had told Modi government not to blame Pakistanbut to put its own house in order.
The right-wingers, who call themselves nationalists, in India accuse Barkha Dutt, known for her aggressive secular stance, for being soft on Pakistan.
