Self-proclaimed god woman Radhe Maa seems to have had a weakness for Bollywood.

Many of her satsangs were set to  Bollywood tunes. She also  seems to have built a small following in the industry. Social media has been circulating photos of several film personalities with her.

A photo of Radhe Maa with Gajendra Chauhan  was being shared  furiously on Friday.

She has also been photographed with Bhojpuri stars Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari, Big boss contestant Dolly Bindra, director Subhash Ghai wife and ad-man and film maker Prahlad Kakkar.

While these photos are buzzing around on social media, there is no clarity on how many of them followed Radhe maa religiously. While some of them are wearing Radhe Maa headbands, which may quality them as devotees, for Prahlad Kakkar it could have been a chance encounter at a social gathering.

A 20-year old girl, Zenith Irfan, rode her motorcycle across Pak-occupied Kashmir for six days all by herself, thereby becoming the first woman from Pakistan to do so.

Starting off from Lahore on June 14th, the remarkable youngster traveled hundreds of miles, weathered the elements as well as the rough terrain and by all accounts, came back richer in experience and spirit.

On returning, she chronicled her travels on her facebook page, 'Zenith Irfan: 1 Girl 2 wheels'.

Zenith Irfan's postings and photos paint the picture of a free-spirited and bold adventurer, city-bred and most probably used to good things in life, who nevertheless finds pleasure in simple things and relates to people that she comes across as a decent human being.

Her musing on how beautiful the real heaven must be while traveling through Kashmir, often called the 'Heaven on Earth,' and plans to also raise funds for mosques during her future travel, reveal the role that her faith, Islam, plays in her life.

Zenith's references to 'Azad Kashmir' and 'India-occupied Kashmir' while recounting her trip to Neelam valley shows her probable alignment with her country's Kashmir policy; but her enthusiastic acknowledgement of the tremendous amount of love she's received from India following the airing of a report of her travel on Asianet, reminds us of numerous stories of people of both countries relating to one another with affection, regardless of government policies.

Zenith Irfan's father, a Major in Pakistan Air Force, wanted to travel the world on a bike, but passed away without doing it when Zenith was only a toddler. Zenith, through her travel with her mother's active encouragement, is paying homage to him and is keeping his spirit alive.

An Indian-American artist Kiran Gandhi ran London marathon recently while menstruating and without wearing a tampon or a sanitary napkin.

As Kiran Gandhi completed her run, her pants were stained with the menstrual blood and made a powerful statement that having periods was a natural process and not a showstopper for anything.

She had trained for the London marathon for over a year, which was held to raise awareness about breast cancer. And the night before it started her periods struck. She decided to run without a tampon to raise awareness about women who have no access to feminine products and to encourage women to not be embarrassed about their periods.

"On the marathon course, sexism can be beaten. Where the stigma of a woman’s period is irrelevant, and we can re-write the rules as we choose." the 26-year-old wrote on her website.

It would also have uncomfortable to wear a tampon for 26.2 miles, she pointed out, asserting that her  comfort superseded that of the observer.

A Harvard Business School graduate, Kiran Gandhi, has played drums for singer M.I.A. and Thievery Corporation.

Her brave run is part of the campaign that many are supporting to strip menstruation of its taboo.

Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan doesn't care much for the government backtracking and lifting the near-blanket ban on porn streamed through the internet.

Irrfan Khan echoes similar sentiments as Kamlesh Vaswani, the Indore lawyer who is the face of the anti-porn movement in India, on issues concerning child pornography.

But with two growing sons, Irrfan tells DNA that he is also concerned about the easy access that the world wide web provides children to pornography; and how porn reduces lovemaking to instant gratification of our carnal desires.

We can probably expect the twittrati who went after Sonam Kapoor for her opposition to the ban on porn to side up with Irrfan Khan.

Chand Nawab Vs Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Duniya News

Staff correspondent, August 8, 2015, NewsCrunch

Pakistan TV Channel Duniya News, which  ran a 15 minute programme on the making of Bajrangi Bhaijaan recently, brought face-to-face  Pakistani journalist Chand Nawab and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays a role based on him.

Chand Nawab had gone viral in Pakistan years before Bajrangi Bhaijaan released. He had been caught on camera bumbling  and struggling to file a report on people going home to celebrate Eid.

In the viral video, standing on a crowded overbridge, Chand Nawab struggled to drive away the people, who came in the way and say, people were going home from Karachi to celebrate Eid.

The video became a scene in the movie to introduce Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who mimicked the journalist standing on a Railway overbridge.

On Duniya News show, both Chand Nawab and Nawazuddin Siddiqui attempted the scene, with the Pak journalist humorously correcting the dialogue of the Indian actor.

Chand Nawab said he had become a celebrity now with people stopping him on the road to take selfies.

A new video Lonely lady picking up young boys is going viral.

Uploaded by PrankBaaz on Thursday, it has already clocked over 160,000  views, not bad for an indie video, not from the AIB stable.

The video shows a middle-aged, stylishly dressed woman trying to pick up men, who are eating alone at a restaurant. She joins them and strikes up a conversation on how it is important to help others overcome their loneliness. All men agree.

Saying she is lonely, she invites them to go with her. The smell of sex or adventure  tempts most members of the male species. Most of them, though nervous, accept the invite.

She takes them to an old-age home, where the inmates are lonely. She asks the men to  walk the talk and spend time with the residents.

The message is right. Senior citizens are neglected and abandoned. But any script that has to use sex to highlight their plight is shallow, leaves a bad taste.

Reliance boss Mukesh Ambani went to Dwarka in Gujarath to pray at the famous Dwarkadeesh temple in July, along with his family.

A video, which shows how business tycoons get to make spiritual visits is generating buzz.

Two large choppers land at an airfield, carrying the Ambani family. The pilot in the first one gets down and opens the back door from which Mukesh Ambani emerges.

As the family walks on the tarmac, security men wearing black attire and holding automatics cover them – Mukesh Ambani enjoys Z-plus protection.

A fleet of luxury vehicles are in the wait mode to ferry the large extended family of Ambanis - wife Nita, daughter Nisha, sons Ananth and Akash and other close relatives.

The video then cuts to the Dwarka temple where the temple officials are in the wait mode to greet the family, along with security guards and the media.

The family arrives and is escorted into the temple. After the pooja, Nita Ambani speaks to the waiting media  – she names all the family members who were visiting the Lord and says the darshan went well.

Hailing from the remote Kupwara district in Kashmir, Dr Ruveda Salam passed her MBBS exams, became a doctor.

Next came the Kashmir Administrative Service which she cleared easily; she followed up on this by the qualifying in the UPSC exams and became an Assistant Commissioner of Police in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Still not satisfied, inspired by her father, she appeared for the exams again, passed it in flying colours and is presently all set to become an IAS officer.

A team from the Mumbai's Malwani police raided several hotels in the Madh Island and Aksa on Thursay and booked 40 couples for public indecency.

The police said they were acting on a prostitution tip, while everyone detained in the raid was a consenting adult.

All the couples were taken to police station, humiliated for hours and let off with a fine.

The police personnel misbehaved with the detained persons; one girl, who protested,  was slapped by a woman constable, reports Mid Day.

College students, who were  caught in the raid, were made to call their parents to the station, who were also put through lessons in parenting.

The police action, which is routine, sparked an outrage. Urban India has changed and consenting adults having sex in private is not police business. What happened in the hotels was a private act and not public indecency, as the Mumbai police claimed.

Staff correspondent, August 9, 2015, NewsCrunch

A newly released video clip When Male got raped  is getting some attention for its subject - male rape.

When Male got raped : Another Side of Tale, as the full title goes, is 7-minute long and is produced by Zero Budget talkies.

It tells the story of an adolescent complaining to the police that a friend's neighbour had raped him,

The neighbour, a good looking 40ish woman invites him in, after the friend's door is found locked.

The virgin-man rebuffs her advances prompting her to threaten that she will call police to file a false rape case. The terrified man has no option but to yield and is taken to the bedroom for the act.

The police inspector laughs at the complaint. The friend is jealous and the father blames him. Nobody takes it seriously.

In the end the police refuse to file FIR saying it will be hard to prove rape in court and sends the man back with the message that it takes an inflated balloon to commit the act.

We will not hold bad acting, amateurish production against the video. The policeman, in  hired ill-fitting clothes, looks more like a security guard.

Let us focus on the central message: Rape can happen to men as well, while the law and the authorities and the society at large does not recognise it.  The implicit call - we need gender neutral rape laws.

Men are indeed raped but mostly by other men. The woman-rapes-man reports, which come out once-a-while appear to be robbery attempts or cases of child abuse.

The kind of rape the movie depicts is minuscule. The line of thought propagated by the movie equates the magnitude of the rape against women with the stray incidents of women raping men.

There is a campaign in the country to check the misuse of marriage and dowry laws to protect the interests of men. Movies like these do more harm than good.

In conclusion, a half-baked attempt.

A high point of Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par movie was the moving relationship between Darsheel Safary, a dyslexic kid and his mother, Tisca Cjopra. The melody Meri maa which is a tearjerker, anchors the movie, and became an all-time hit.

A parody cover of Meri maa by Shudh Desi Gaane spoofs over-protective mothers, who choose to ignore that their sons are as rotten as a spoilt egg.

Now, spoof Darsheel Safari has grown up, retaining his buck teeth. The new version of Meri Maa retains the tune and is sung professionally. It is the lyrics and its depiction, which makes you sick with laughter.

The parody Mari Maa also begins with a tearful farewell. Mom is going away, leaving her son behind. Emotions ooze and tears drop till you are told that she is going to buy sabzee.

Th son waves at her sniffing, but breaks into a smile and break dance after she departs. He rushes to his bed to take the story forward.

Scene 1: The grown up spoof Darsheel Safari is on his bed jerking off watching high-definition porn.  As mom rushes in, he frantic motions come to an abrupt standstill. She is worried if her son, who is unusually on the bed covered with chadar, is feeling ok and looks clueless.

Scene two - Mom is cooking and spoof Darsheel Safari is smoking on the sly. Mom sniffs the smoke. suspects the gas is playing truant, shoves her son away to safety and turns off the LPG. She goes to him, embraces, thanking her stars that nothing happened  to him.

There are a few more scenes of inconsistent quality, which brings out the  mother's blissful ignorant state.

Full marks for the parody which gets everything right - cast, direction, script and production. It is so  good, as someone pointed out, Aamir Kan will not like it for messing up his favourite Meri Maa song.

Shakeela, Malayalam's softcore superstar, may have fired the sexual imagination of a generation of Indians - but the lady herself went through a torrid time battling depression.

Speaking to Roshni Nair of DNA, Shakeela says she is not aware if she suffers from depression nor has she sought any help.

But she may have cut her hand a few times, she mentions casually.

Life has been a rough ride for the adult actress, who set the standard for female orgasm with her loud moans on the screen. Post-acting her attempt to rebuild her career as a director flopped. And Shakeela also lost her money after an elder sister swindled her.

There is support from a younger brother, an adopted daughter and a community of transgenders with whom who she works.

Looking back at her career Shakeela is unapologetic. She chooses the word glamour to describe the films, not the standard adjectives, porn or soft porn.

Shakeela allowed producers to use body doubles to simulate her upper nudity or even insert footage without her permission - after all it was her bread and butter and she had to survive, she mentions.

Th DNA article gives a human touch to Shakeela's screen time and answers a question that may have troubled many an Indian male. Given the amount of moaning she did on the screen, did she enjoy any of it.

The answer is no. Shakeela says she would prefer to finish her scenes in just one take. If not the man would be all over her body again, she says.

Staff correspondent, August 10, 2015

Rahul Sharma, the co-founder of Micromax, who is all set to marry Bollywood heartthrob Asin, describes himself as middle-class boy who made it big.

At 40, he is no longer a boy. But even after having co-founded a company that is valued at over three billion dollars, he says his life has not changed much except for the money.

Son of school principal, Rahul Sharma studied engineering at Nagpur, where he met his three other co-founders - Rajesh Agarwal, Sumeet Arora and Vikas Jain.

After graduating in 2000 they opted against a corporate job and decided to strike out on their own, and started Micromax. A decade later their company had emerged as one of India’s largest handset makers, which is now furiously diversifying.

Along the way Rahul Sharma met Asin, reportedly through Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna, both brand ambassadors of Micromax.

In 2013, Rahul Sharma and Asin were seen in public for the first time, and reportedly fell out a year later, before coming together again to cement their relationship.

Staying rooted to basics seems to be Rahul Sharma's secret recipe.  Micromax does not do market surveys or focus groups. To understand what people want, Rahul Sharma still works as a salesman at a few select outlets, once a while.

The beef referred to is actually carabeef, or the meat from water buffalo. There is huge demand for Indian buffalo meat as it is cheaper than the regular beef.

Beef from India is mainly exported to Vietnam, Malaysia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Brazil, Australia and USA follow India as the top beef exporting nations of the world.

According to Agricultural and Processed Foods Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India has 88 million buffaloes, making up 58 percent of all buffalo population in the world.

These animals are mainly maintained for milk and are even used as draught animals for farming in some parts of the country.

Some of them are exclusively raised for breeding. In 2014, it was reported that Yuvraj, a he-buffalo from Haryana who weighed 1400 kgs, was offered Rs. 7 crores by an interested buyer. Yuvraj reportedly earned his owner Rs.50 lakhs annually.

But as the ban on cattle, especially cows and bullocks, in various parts of the country isn't applicable to these animals, they can also be slaughtered for meat.

Despite the trend of rising meat consumption in the country, the number of Indians eating beef is quite low.

A 2015 analysis of National Sample Survey data from 2012 shows just four percent of rural Indians and five percent of those in urban areas reporting that they consumed beef during the last week prior to surveying.

Consumption also varied widely, from per capita monthly average of half a kilo beef in Nagaland to no consumption in the states of Punjab, Chattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh.
